We are looking for a Veterinary Assistant to support our team of veterinarians and LVTs at Cedar Plaza Vet Clinic in Mountlake Terrace.

We are an AAHA-accredited, locally owned practice with a mission to help pets live happier, healthier, longer and pain-free lives.

Responsibilities

  • Bring patients into exam rooms, take history and basic vitals
  • Restrain animals during examinations and vaccinations
  • Feed, groom and weigh animals
  • Clean cages, exam rooms and the facility as needed
  • Sterilize equipment and clean examination tables and rooms
  • Soothe upset or frightened animals
  • Administer medication under supervision
  • Observe animal behavior and health, and report to the veterinarian
  • Help with surgical and general anesthesia setup
  • Assist in emergencies and keep accurate records and logs
  • Acquire and maintain Veterinary Medication Clerk Certification within 3 months of hire — we help with the process

Qualifications

  • One year of veterinary experience required
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Patient and caring personality
  • Comfortable around cats and dogs
  • Able to meet the physical demands of the job, including lifting up to 40 lbs
  • Veterinary Assistant Certification a plus

Working hours

Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 7 PM; Saturday rotation.
